Congregation B'nai Shalom Sisterhood
|
| PURPOSE
Our very active Sisterhood is chartered by the Constitution with the
following objectives:
The Sisterhood holds regular meetings, generally on the 2nd Monday of each month. After a quick discussion of committee reports, unfinished business, and new business, we enjoy refreshments and a program. Past events have included a Spa night, a visiting expert on handwriting analysis, a representative from the Ovens of Manitowoc bakery, Pesach recipe feast, an interior designer, a fireman talking about safety in the home, and a pharmacist discussing drug interactions (our own Rochelle Rotenberg). etc. There is a small charge at some meetings to cover supplies. Upcoming Sisterhood Events are listed in the Calendar. PROGRAMS The Sisterhood offers the following programs and support for shul
functions:
The Sisterhood is in charge of the synagogue Kitchen and helps sponsor Onegs and Kiddushes on a weekly basis. Anyone who needs the Kitchen must have approval from the Sisterhood. Contact the shul office for more details. SPONSORING AN ONEG OR KIDDUSH The Sisterhood is proud to announce the new and improved "Bar-Bat Mitzvah and Basic Oneg / Kiddush" plan. There are now 4 options to choose from. Call the shul office and pick up the new packet. GIFT SHOP The Sisterhood runs a gift shop at the shul, with many Jewish ritual and decorative items for weddings, Bar- and Bat-mitzvahs, birthdays and other occasions. To purchase items from the gift shop, please contact the shul office. TREE OF LIFE The Sisterhood coordinates the purchase of leaves and acorns on the shul's Tree of Life, featured prominently in our foyer. For more information on commemorating a simcha in this way, please contact Gail Nagle. DOMINICKS AND JEWEL DAYS At certain times during the year, the shul is provided with coupons, which are available from the office. When you shop on specific days, turn in the coupon to the cashier, and a percentage of your purchase is given to the shul in the form of a purchase credit. For more information, contact Golda Stoltz. INVITATIONS You can order your Bar- and Bat-mitzvah and wedding invitations, birth announcements and personalized note paper through B'nai Shalom. For more information, call Elaine Goode.
